Set your Spirit Right Ritual for 2020

  1. Energetic Cleanse for your Home

  2. Spiritual Bathing

  3. Self Care + New Year Affirmation

The New Year comes around and we are all suddenly filled with hope. We are reminded that there exists within ourselves a link to the cosmic cycles of life. We believe that a new beginning in terms of time can also be the impetus for growth and change within our own life. We find ways to begin to live healthier and happier lives.

Although anytime is a good time to start relearning how to take care of and love yourself, the New Year is such an amazing time to give into the feeling and flow with it. As individuals, we can recognize what we need to implement or let go of in our life to become more stable and caring people, but something truly magical happens when we realize that there is power in working toward our own good and the good of others on a larger scale. Community has the power to reinforce the idea that something good can happen. When we all begin to share in on the positive outlook together, we see that we have support from those who share in on the struggle but have faith that things can get better.

For this New Year, we are going to tend to our selves by reminding our spirits that it's ok to seek help, that we can love ourselves and that we are also capable of being loved. We are going to empower ourselves to be ok with vulnerability and to know that no matter who we are or were, we can always strive to be the most optimum version of ourself in the present, daily. This new decade is about learning to be ok with the ebbs and flows and listening to what these fluctuations are trying to teach us.

So in order to be ready to cultivate love, acceptance, growth and awareness within our lives, we need to Set Our Spirit Right! What follows is a ritual for cleaning your energy, aura and spirit of negative and dull vibes, for clearing your space of bad memories and energies, and or setting an affirmation for yourself that allows you to be OPEN.

First things first: Organize and focus on making sure you don't have clutter in the corners on the floor in your home. Pick it up and put it somewhere.

Second: Once you have picked up loose items and organized as much as possible, it's time to sweep/vacuum.

Third: Cleanse your window and door frames with the following wash (which will also be used to mop your floors):

  • 1 bucket of water with a splash of vinegar

  • A few sprigs of Juniper or a few drops of Juniper essential oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil (if you have wood floors)

Fourth: Mop your floors with the wash described above.

Fifth: Open your windows or doors to let the fresh air in and the stagnant air out.

Sixth: Light a candle and say an intention out loud that your home be the dwelling of love and that all negativity stay away.

You can make your own bath or purchase a bath made by Nativa Wellbeing, prepared with love, prayer and intention with herbs from Ashley's garden.

1 quart of water

2 handfuls of sea salt

1 splash of Florida Water

Juice of 1/2 a lime

1cinnamon stick

  1. Bring water to a boil and then lower to a simmer. One at a time, add your ingredients with thanks and appreciation. Take time to experience each element, how it feels in your hand and what it means to you emotionally and spiritually. If you feel nothing, take time to breathe slowly and bring awareness to any physical sensations at the time. After all the ingredients are in the water, stir the brew 40 times counterclockwise. You may state out loud any feelings or hardships your wish to let go of or overcome in the new year. Repeat your intentions until you have completed the 40 rotations.

  2. Let the bath cool then strain.

  3. Light a white candle in your bathroom.

  4. Proceed to take a shower as normal, cleansing your body and hair. After you have washed off, turn off the water and hold your spiritual bath in your hands.

  5. Say out loud: Thank you for the fluid nature of life, for my ability to release, and for my strength to continue forward. With this bath I symbolically and magically clear myself of any stagnant or negative energy that has held me back in the past.

  6. Pour the bath down your body allowing it run down your skin. Air or pat yourself dry.

This is where you get to pamper yourself in any healthyish way you choose. Face masks, get your nails done, go for a walk in nature, enjoy a hobby... whatever it is, do it with the intention of recognizing that it makes you happy and that is something you deserve!

When you get back home, write on a paper:

"I am open to experiencing life in all its forms. I know that in life there are ups and downs. I will learn from each lesson and move forward with love. My feelings of vulnerability will guide me to a deeper understanding of lessons that may need to be relearned."

Put this paper somewhere you can see it daily. Say it out loud with conviction whether you believe it or not. Read it daily.
